The 'Danish Duo' of Cho Kyu-sung (26) and Lee Han-beom (22, Mittwillan) scored side-by-side to give their team the win.

Mittwillan came from behind to beat Aarhus 3-2 in the 19th round of the 2023-2024 Danish Superliga at Ceres Park Arena in Aarhus, Denmark on Saturday (June 26). It was a valuable victory with nine men.

With the victory, Mittwillan maintained their second place with 12 wins, three draws and four losses, 39 points, and moved within one point of leaders Brøndby (40 points) in the title race.

Cho Kyu-seong and Lee Han-beom joined the team. Mittwilan started with Aral Simsir-Jo Kyu-sung, Armin Gigovic-André Römer-Oliver Sørensen-Ola Brynhildsen, Paulinho-Juninho-Sverrir Ingi Ingason-Han-beom Lee and Jonas Rössl.

For Lee, it was his first start and second league game since joining Mittwilan in August last year. He made his debut as a late substitute at Hvidørre in November last year, but has been on the bench ever since. Today, however, he started at right back.

However, Mittwillan's hopes were dashed when he was sent off. Left-back Paulinho was shown a straight red card in the fourth minute of the second half and Ingidsson in the 30th minute for accumulating cautions. To add insult to injury, Mortensen converted a penalty kick in the 31st minute to tie the game at 2-2.

Despite being forced to play with nine men, Mittwilan never gave up. Cho Kyu-sung and Lee Han-beom also played with dedication to help the team.

And then a miracle happened. In the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time, Mt. Willan had a chance to counterattack after a combination of pressure from Cho Kyu-sung and a passing mistake from the opponent. Charles finished with a precise right-footed shot for a theater goal. In the end, the game ended with a victory for Mittwilan, who were two men short.

Football stats site Footmob gave Cho a rating of 7.7, as he contributed with one goal, two shots, and one chance created, as well as a lot of active competition and pressure.

Lee Han-beom was also the highest rated player on the team with an 8.6 rating. Despite not playing in his natural position as a central defender, he put in a solid defensive performance, winning a penalty, making one tackle, three interceptions, and two clearances.
