Hyo-joon Park, 28, of the Oakland Athletics, continued his quest to rejoin the major leagues by hitting a two-run double against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Park went 1-for-1 with a walk, a hit, an RBI and a run scored off the bench in an exhibition game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona, on Saturday.

Park, who didn't start the game, grounded out to second base in the bottom of the sixth inning with the A's trailing 0-3.

With the Oakland bullpen giving up one more run, Park led off the top of the seventh with one out and one on and faced Dodgers right-hander Eliezer Hernandez, who hit a game-tying double to right field. After being traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates, Park was touted as a versatile utility player, but he had a rough winter after the 2022 season. Even in Atlanta, Park's position was a sandcastle. Atlanta placed him on waivers in December 2022 to make room on the 40-man roster for outfielder Eli White.

Park signed a minor league deal with Atlanta and tried to get back into the big leagues, but the call-up never came. In 101 games at Triple-A, he batted 2-for-6 with two doubles, six home runs, 42 RBIs, 49 runs scored and 16 stolen bases.

Park signed a minor league contract with Oakland in November of last year and is now fighting for a spot on the 22-man spring training roster.

In 68 major league games, Park is batting .251 with five home runs, 20 RBIs and 23 runs scored. His last major league game was on September 8, 2022, against the New York Mets while still with Pittsburgh.
