Professional volleyball women's team Jung Kwan-jang snapped a four-game losing streak by sacrificing Korea Expressway Corporation on New Year's Day.

Jeong Kwan-jang defeated Korea Expressway Corporation 3-1 (25-22 20-25 25-20 25-23) in straight sets in the Dodram 2023-2024 V-League Women's Division at Gimcheon Gymnasium on January 1.

Fifth-ranked Jung Kwan-jang (8-12, 27 points) snapped a four-game losing streak and moved to within four points of fourth-ranked IBK (11-9, 31 points). No. 6 Korea Expressway Corporation (6W14D, 19P) dropped to eight points.

Jung Kwan-jang Jia led the way with 30 points on a 58.70 percent offensive success rate. Lee So-young also pitched in with 25 points. Jung Ho-young chipped in with 12 points, including three blocks and one serve.

Despite scoring 35 points, the most of any team in the match, it was not enough to prevent her team from losing.

Jung Kwan-jang took the first set.

Leading 20-18 thanks to Jia's performance, Kwanjang was forced to tie the score after back-to-back kills by their opponent, Burkilich. However, they quickly regained the lead thanks to the attacks of Mega and Lee So-young. At 23-22, Lee's quick open saved set point and Jia's open attack sealed the 25th point.

After dropping the first set and falling behind midway through the second, Korea Expressway Corporation scored seven consecutive points at 15-18 to turn the tide. Tanacha's open attack, Kim Se-bin's block, and Vukiric's quick opener helped them overcome Jung Kwan-jang.

With both teams splitting the first and second sets, Jung Kwan-jang again took the third set to take control of the match.

At 15-15, Lee's back-to-back quick opens gave Kwanjang the lead, and he extended it to 18-17 with a fastball from Jung Ho-young and a service ace from Lee. At 24-20, Lee Yerim's attack was blocked by Park Eun-jin to seal the third set.

Kwanjang took the fourth set to close out the match.

Jia, Jeong Ho-young, and Lee So-young built up the points with even scoring, and at 19-16, Jeong Kwan-jang reached 20 points with a quick opener from Lee So-young.

Korea Expressway Corporation did not back down and continued to close the gap to one point, but Chung was unwavering.

At 21-20, Chung broke through with a fastball from Chung Ho-young and a quick opener from Jia at 22-21, but Mega's open attack put him on match point. At 24-23, Yeom Hye-sun blocked Tanacha's open attack to end the match with the win.
