Tottenham agree long-term deal with Destiny Udoh

Destiny Udoji has signed a new long-term contract with Tottenham Hotspur.

"We are delighted to announce that Destiny Udoji has signed a new contract with the club until the summer of 2030," the club said in a statement on its website on Wednesday.

Udoji came up through the youth ranks at Elas Verona. He made his first professional appearance in 2020-21 and showed his potential on loan to Udinese in 2021-22, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 35 Serie A appearances.

It was these performances that prompted Tottenham to make an offer. President Fabio Paratici actively pushed for Udoji's signing, and Antonio Conte agreed with Paratici and finalized the deal. Tottenham snapped up Udoji for €18 million and signed a contract until 2027.

Once again, Udoji went out on loan to Udinese. With Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon already playing at the left fullback position, Tottenham had no room for him, so they wanted to send him out on a season-long loan to get him some consistent game time. Udoji was already a first-team regular at Udinese, so he had the experience of being a first-team regular last season. He scored three goals and provided four assists in 33 Serie A games last season.

After a successful loan spell, Udoji returned to Tottenham. It was a new environment, but Udoji quickly rose to the top of the team. He's been in the starting lineup since the opening day and has started every game except for one injury and a one-match suspension for accumulating cautions.

An aggressive fullback Udoji has been given an attacking role on the left flank, disrupting opposing defenses with moves into the center and even inside the 토토 penalty box. He's a full-back that suits the attacking style of football that coach Enze Postecoglou wants to play. His performances earned him a call-up to the Italian national team, where he made his A-match debut.
